Make the most of your visit to The Islands Of The Bahamas by joining our free People-to-People program. Enjoy an authentic home-cooked meal. Share stories. Go sightseeing. Meet Bahamian children. Listen to rake and scrape. Our program does more than introduce you to our culture. It lets you experience The Bahamas through the eyes of a Bahamian.

Our People-to-People program is available on the following islands:

  • The Abacos
  • Andros
  • Bimini
  • Cat Island
  • Eleuthera/Harbour Island
  • The Exumas
  • Grand Bahama Island
  • Nassau/Paradise Island


Some activities for you to enjoy may include:

  • Authentic Bahamian meal
  • Church service with host
  • Visit local schools
  • Tea Parties
  • Tour of the island
  • Boating excursion


Other Free Programs


Tea Party

Attend a tea party at Government House in Nassau, hosted by the Governor General’s wife. Enjoy local bush teas and pastries. Available from 3-4 p.m. on the last Friday of each month, January through November.


Spouse's Program

While you’re attending a conference or working, your spouse can venture out and explore our islands, our way of life and our culture with a friendly Bahamian ambassador.


E-pal Program

With our E-Pal program, get a taste for our islands before you know what a conch fritter looks like.
