Family Fun on Land

You can visit Griffin Bat Cave, once a hideout for Arawaks and slaves, Mt. Alvernia, old churches, plantation ruins and a small museum to learn firsthand about Cat Island’s history. Of particular interest to children will be the sport of crabbing that locals engage in most evenings during the rainy season, when the crabs are "walking." You can find them in bushes in most areas, but it's best to use a guide.
