Worship

Historic churches here include two by Monsignor John C. Hawes (Father Jerome): The  Hermitage carved out of Mount Alvernia and St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church. And, St. Mary, The Virgin, Anglican Church was built in 1834 to commemorate the abolition of slavery. Denominations represented are Anglican, Assemblies of Brethren, Baptist, Church of God, Jehovah's Witnesses, and Roman Catholic.
